Our client is an early stage startup with a simple to use online service focused on making travel easier for you and people you need to keep informed about the trip.   They have landed large players in the field who want to be partners.  Now they need an outstanding, talented and highly entrepreneurial CTO to work beside the founder and bring this nearly completed service to the full beta ready phase within the next two months.

This position will be a Co-Founder CTO role, in which the right candidate will be more than a senior engineering professional, but a true visionary and manager.  This is not a coder role, but a technologist with excellent people skills, management experience, and business savvy.


The CTO will be responsible for:

•    Building and managing a strong team of engineers, on and offshore.
•    Ensuring service becomes and remains more user-friendly.
•    Ensuring that the technology is scalable for high traffic volumes.
•    Ensuring the service works on PC, Mac and Mobile platforms, iOS being the first of these.
•    Bringing vision and leadership to the engineering team on how to make this a better, more robust service in the future.

What you will need to have in your recent background to be considered:

•    Experience working with Ruby On Rails, JavaScript and CoffeeScript.
•    Experience managing engineers offshore.
•    Early stage startup experience, understand the bumps and joys.
•    Working knowledge of iOS, PC and Mobile platforms.

Other must haves:

•    Looking for a ground floor position in an early stage startup.
•    Willing to put some “skin” in the game.
•    Work full-time in the role.
•    Collaborative, yet able to make quick decisions when needed.
•    Customer facing, excellent communicator with technical and non-technical people.
•    Able to take feedback and translate into features and enhanced services.
