Our client has created an innovative platform that supports collaboration for artists, photographers, filmmakers, writers, musicians and other creative companies and projects that are looking for new talent. They also are forming a spinoff that uses the same platform for collaboration focused on the sports world. The founders are very seasoned, and have had outstanding success with previous ventures, and their site and its technology is launched and operational, and they are already getting some great publicity and word-of-mouth buzz. This is going to be a very interesting and high profile company. We have been asked to find a stellar CFO to be their financial lead as they build their foundation and move into fast growth. We are looking for someone who has very deep experience with start-ups and early stage companies, and who has worked with venture capital firms and investors so you can be an integral person as they raise a C-round of financing. You will be focusing your time on that at first, working closely with their legal counsel, doing the VC prep, and overseeing all the necessary information to close this next round. We are looking for someone who is very grounded and pragmatic, who has a stable life and personality, someone who has the accounting and controller abilities to make sure numbers and details are in place, and who also has the personality and presence to interface with the board. You must have been in a similar role with start-ups that have grown and had successful financial outcomes, know the processes and strategies for working with investors, and want to be a key player in taking another start-up to profitability. Because this company is seeking another round of financing, we are also looking for someone with the ability to work for equity in lieu of a paycheck at first, someone who has the entrepreneurial spirit to know that in the long term, equity is the real reward. Once the next round of funding is secured, you’ll get a generous salary and more equity. Offices are in Mountain View, and we are looking for local candidates.
