Our client is an angel investment group that has been involved in helping startup companies for over 9 years. They are growing and need a highly talented Director of Sponsorship Development. In this position, the successful candidate will secure new and additional sponsorships for this group.
The ideal candidate will bring to the table at least five years of experience landing sponsorships, domestically and internationally, with mostly medium to large corporations in excess of $250K or more per event/per year.
Your Responsibilities:
* Identify and cultivate annual chapter sponsors both domestically and internationally: • Attend several external events per week (private equity conferences, industry events etc.) • Develop list of potential sponsors • Manage prospective sponsorship database and communications • Build relationships with existing and potential sponsors • Invite prospective sponsors to events.
* Identify and cultivate event only sponsorships: • Develop event specific sponsorship programs • Develop list of potential sponsors for each investment industry within the group • Solidify Sponsorships for annual event.
You Will Bring To the Table:
* Background in at least some of: • Sponsorship organizations (For profit, non-profit) • Client service organizations • Investment or wealth management • Private equity investments and/or venture capital • Business development activities.
* Established contacts within the Sponsorship community: • Involved in Bay Area business community • Have worked with high net individuals and/or is one • Excellent people skills, in person and on the phone • Customer service experience a plus • Excellent written and oral communications.
* Thorough and detail-oriented * Ability to multi-task * Ability to interact and function as a team player * Highly social personality * Impeccable ethics, high integrity and pleasant personality * A self starter able to manage themselves with minimum supervision * Live in the Bay Area * Good computer skills: Windows (Word/Excel), Outlook.
This position is intended to be a full time role and will include a base salary, and commission structure. However, it is possible to consider less than full time hours if the individual has excellent qualifications and cannot commit to a five day work week.
