Our client is an early-stage company exploring mechanisms to improve surfing and other similar water sports. At the core of the company is a group of dynamic, hard working individuals who balance work and play. The ideal candidate will bring a sense of adventure, business savvy and strong background in C-level roles including start-up and successful fund raising through investors. This person will have taken at least one early stage start-up through its full life cycle, including reaching its investor desired liquidity event. Critical to this role is experience in bringing a product or products to market successfully. A huge plus is someone who surfs! The CEO will provide effective leadership to position the company at the forefront of the industry. Implement and further develop their strategic plan to raise funding from investors, lead the team in bringing their products to marketing, promote revenue, profitability and growth as an organization. Oversee company operations to ensure efficiency, quality, service, and cost-effective management of resources. What You Will Be Responsible For: * Develop relationships with venture capitalists and/or angel investors and obtain financing at reasonable terms when it becomes necessary. * Work with founder to determine company growth strategy with highest likelihood of success. * Be the outward facing person for the company to investors, key vendors, partners and the surfing culture. * Develop and lead the effort of bringing the company’s products to the market successfully. * Oversee company operations to ensure efficiency, quality, and cost-effective management of resources. * Plan, develop, and implement strategies for generating resources and/or revenues for the company. What You Will Bring To The Table: * 7+ years work experience in a senior level role, including C-level position. * Must be an experienced entrepreneur who has taken at least one startup from Series A all the way to an investor's exit strategy. * A successful track record of leading start-ups through their growth phase. * Extensive experience in fund raising through capitalists and/or angel investors. * Experience in successfully bringing new, innovative products to market. * Experience in strategic planning and execution. * Knowledge of contracting, negotiating, and change management. * Prior sporting goods industry experience is desired, but not required. * Prior experience in an engineering, mechanism and/or technology company. * Bachelor’s degree, advanced degree a plus.
