SUNNYVALE, CA

Our client is an established leader in care management for seniors, with services for personal care, financial management, financial coordination, medical filing and consulting with families, care providers and facilities, all managed through a secure internet platform for data storage and retrieval. This is a huge market, with up to 50 million people estimated to be providing care to an elder in the U.S., and to meet that need, they have spun off a separate company to offer a similar online service for individuals, allowing families to have a central online site to store all important information about doctors, medications, providers, insurance and more, which can be accessed by hospitals, doctors and other care providers. The website and service is launched and fully functional, beautifully designed, and works perfectly. The founder has invested his time and money into building everything out, and they have built a beginning base of subscribers, but now it’s time to take things to another level. To do that, they are looking for a CEO who can take this great product and turn it into a thriving and widely used business, with subscription customers that will include individuals, assisted living centers, and HR and ERP plans. You are an experienced senior executive who has proven success leading startups to profitability and successful exit. Ideally, you have experience with online social or data service sites, and experience or interest the fast-growing field of geriatric services. You are smart, creative, connected, and a strong leader and builder of teams. Your first task will be to raise funds, so you will need experience negotiating with angel investors and VCs. There is already a lot of interest in investing, and it’s easy to sell because the service is so pertinent. You will create the structure of the company, the strategic plan for growth, hire top talent, and oversee the marketing and building of content and services to make this web service a must-have for families of the elderly. The company is located in Sunnyvale, and because that’s where the funding is, too, we are looking for a local candidate. Also, because they are looking for funding, they need a CEO who is able to work for equity in lieu of a paycheck until funding closes. This isn’t for everyone, but we are looking for that special entrepreneurial leader who sees the advantage in that. This job will require extensive travel as well.
