Our client is a leading engineering and technology company providing solutions to the aerospace and defense industries for aircraft and engine maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) market. They have developed a fastener removal system and a variety of tools/fixtures that drastically reduce labor costs, and improves accuracy which reduces damage done when compared to using the traditional hand drill.
This exciting start-up is seeking a Director / Vice President of Sales and Marketing. This is a very important role for the company as this person will spearhead all of the sales and marketing initiatives for the company, including all social media and website management. This candidate must have access to decision makers in the both commercial and defense markets through their established business networks. This is a consultative technical sales position that requires some hands on operations capability as well as sales expertise.
Responsibilities: • Plan and manage all sales, marketing and advertising aspects of the company • Manage website and online marketing initiatives • Develop sales and marketing content (e.g. case studies, whitepapers, videos, blog posts…) while providing team leadership • Refine and improve the company’s positioning, messaging and marketing effectiveness • Work in conjunction with executive management team to develop a strong marketing strategy • Develop and execute integrated sales and marketing campaigns to achieve aggressive goals in building awareness, lead generation, pipeline and revenue • Assist in obtaining fundraising / investors for the company • Collaborate with stakeholders to develop a cohesive sales and marketing strategy that ensures objectives are met and localization strategy is aligned to global marketing brand and communications. • Implement, track and analyze online marketing campaigns to optimize performance and provide reporting on programs to management • Develop and manage sales force, sales pipeline and sales forecast
Required Qualifications • 8-10 years of sales and marketing experience in the aerospace and/or defense industries • Solid experience in leading marketing & sales teams with small/medium sized companies • Detail-oriented with strong attention to tactical execution and follow-through • Ability to align tactical plans with strategies • Ability to demonstrate track record of success in all key areas of responsibility and consistently produce results on time and within budget • Proven experience working with sales teams and supporting programs to drive awareness and sales • Strong written and verbal communication skills across all channels including press releases, blog post, article, public speaking and social media communications • Proactive, creative, team-oriented, analytical individual and leader • Some experience in raising investment capital for start-ups is a plus
