Operations Associate (8082A)

LOCATION: NEW YORK, NY

Our client is an up and coming apparel startup in NYC. They are looking for a strong Operations Associate to join their growing team…someone who is a self-starter, well organized, who may not have an MBA but does have a GSD…Gets Stuff Done! Someone resourceful, digitally savvy with a passion for fitness and fashion. You will have 1-3 years of winning work experience in an operations capacity. You’ll report directly to the CEO.

As the Operations Associate, your duties will consist of:

  • Enhancing the overall operational procedure, including systems management, business processes, enhanced reporting while looking for opportunities for improvement
  • Monitoring and updating the website to maximize conversion and sales
  • Being the right-hand person to the CEO
  • Managing relationships with key warehouse and operational vendors
  • Reviewing and approving all operational invoices and ensure they are submitted for payment
  • Serving as primary point of contact when there are customer issues related to product quality, customer service, etc.
  • Monthly sales reporting and recaps
  • Light graphic design work
  • General administrative tasks
  • Samples tracking and organization
  • Managing retail and wholesale partnerships
  • Assisting in managing/organizing photo shoots
  • Sizing analysis
  • Working with the web developer/designer to increase website conversion
  • Ensuring all sales materials are current and updated

As the Operations Associate, your background will include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or related field
  • 1-3 years of operations experience, preferably at startups or the apparel industry
  • Strategic thinking skills and proven experience generating original ideas
  • Passion about sports and athletic apparel in general
  • Resourcefulness, problem solving mindset
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with a high degree of independence
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage project timelines and cross-functional teams with attention to details
  • Solid analytical skills, and a proficiency with using data to make sound recommendations affecting business decisions and results
  • Detail oriented and organized mindset
  • Stellar communication skills, both written and verbal
  • “Glass is half full” mentality
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign a plus
