Chief Technology Officer/ Vice President of Engineering Embedded Systems (8090G)

LOCATION: PALO ALTO, CA

Our client is replacing badging as an access point identification method by leveraging facial recognition, 3D sensing, and artificial intelligence to enable highly secure and frictionless entry into physical locations.

What you will do:

  • Build, mentor, motivate and lead, cross-functional team of agile, innovative engineers comprised of machine learning, computer vision, firmware, mechanical, electrical and test skills
  • Full engineering product ownership
  • Partner with the company's executive team to analyze and identify opportunities, skills and gaps in the hiring plan, contributing to the company's overall product and strategic growth
  • Define and achieve target metrics and milestones for shipping an exceptional product
  • Hardware platform system architecture
  • Code review (firmware, C++)
  • Measure and manage software code/architecture quality
  • Evaluation of performance and hiring of the engineering team
  • Product requirements transfer into engineering tasks and their prioritization based on preset milestones

What you need to have:

  • 8+ years of software experience
  • Deep software experience in embedded systems or firmware
  • C++, hardware device bring-up experience
  • Hardware system architecture experience
  • 5+ years of management experience
  • Track record for building a strong engineering culture and teams of 15+ people
  • Manufacturing experience
  • Passion and enthusiasm for the product and company vision
  • Ability to actively communicate, inspire and drive all levels of staff
  • Previous startup experience

Nice to Have:

  • Computer vision and/or machine learning experience
  • QA experience
  • Experience in the physical security market
  • Managing remote teams

Compensation: Lower base to begin with strong equity component. Up to market salary after next round of funding.
